My name is Abigail, or Abby, and I am vegan. I have been vegan for 2.5 years and vegetarian for 4.5. I created this site to share my passion for veganism, vegan cooking, and seasonal ingredients. Recently I have become more inspired to help others with their journey to veganism and health and also to aid other college students in being vegan and/or eating healthy in college.
This is my first year living at college (I’m technically a sophomore credit-wise and took college classes last year), and I have learned so much about eating vegan and healthfully successfully at college. This year, I plan to put out more posts, videos, recipes, etc. about eating vegan in a college cafeteria and also cooking in my dorm room. My hope is for this information to help other vegans have an easier transition to living on a college campus.
Some additional information about me: I love swimming in natural bodies of water and spending time outside, but I sunburn extremely easily, I practice yoga, I am a Christian, I can play the clarinet, I am double majoring in Arts and Humanities and Food Science, and my dream is to one day grow lots of my own food.
I hope my posts on this site inspire you to eat more seasonally and plant-based and give you some new ideas about food, life, or whatever. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to comment on any post or to contact me using the information on my contact page on this site. Also, I would love for you to check out my YouTube channel and Instagram!
I am vegan. That is not usually the first thing I tell people when I meet them, but, since it is the theme of this site, I thought You should know right away.
When I read blogs I like it when the about page is long and full of real information about the writer, so I will try to make this as informative as possible.
I am 17 years old, a girl named Abigail, 5 feet and 2 inches tall, and blonde. My hair gets blonder in the summer, when I spend lots of time in the sun, and my eyes are blue-green with near-orange streaks coming out from the pupils.
I am a senior in high school, and I transferred schools my junior year by choice not force.
I play clarinet in my school band, work as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and, occasionally, babysitter, do homework most of the time, and read blogs when I am bored in school.
I have two main purposes for starting this blog. One, I would like to inspire people to live healthier lifestyles and think about their actions and choices in all aspects of life. Two, I need a space where I can share my ideas and write about things that matter to me in hope that they will be useful to somebody.
It is also important to note that my vegan diet is mostly high-carb, low-fat, and I like to eat seasonal foods whenever possible.
Feel free to comment anywhere on this site and ask questions about being vegan in high school, eating seasonally, or any of my posts.
